Live music in a small town

Swift Pony at Kindred Spirits

We find ourselves immensely enjoying the cozy, artistic atmosphere of the town we now call home. Just yesterday evening we got a text from a neighbor here in Talent, Oregon, alerting us to live music taking place at Kindred Spirits Wine Bar a block and a half away. We donned our jackets (the weather is definitely autumning all over the place) and strolled through the early darkness to a well-lighted business on Talent Avenue. Just inside the window, a duo calling itself Swift Pony was filling a small, resonant room with warm sounds of guitar, fiddle and sweet voices. Lily McCabe and Wayne Cameron, owners of Hilltop Music Shop in Phoenix, entertained diners and wine-sippers with a blend of Celtic and tastefully folksy Americana. Their succulent tones and smooth presentation lulled us into a state of bliss. Good times, small town style.
